    2. to slip one's mind — забывать, выпасть из памяти (особенно потому, что вы заняты чем-либо другим, забывать что-либо сделать): I'm sorry I didn't phone, I was working and it slipped my mind. — Извините, что я не позвонил, я работал, и совсем забыл об этом. I 'm sure we agreed to meet here may be it just slipped his mind. — Я уверена, что мы договорились встретиться здесь, но возможно он об этом забыл.

    6. can't place smth — узнать, но не помнить (где или когда вы это/кого-то видели или встречали): I'm sure I've seem him before, but 1 just can't place him. — Я уверен, что прежде его видел, но не могу вспомнить при каких обстоятельствах./Я уверен, что прежде его видел, но не могу вспомнить кто он. Her perfume seems familiar but he couldn't place it. — Ее духи казались такими знакомыми, он чувствовал этот запах, но он не мог вспомнить его.
    7. to escape ( smb) — забывать на очень короткое время ( но вспомнить очень быстро): I've seen that actor in quite a few films, but his name escapes me at the moment. — Я видела этого актера во многих фильмах, но сейчас не могу вспомнить, как его зовут.
    8. to go in one ear and out of the other — забывать что-либо очень быстро; в одно ухо вошло, в другое вышло (особенно потому, что это вас не интересует): She understands nothing about football, so it all goes in one ear and out of the other. — Она ничего не понимает в футболе, и поэтому все это у нее в одно ухо входит, из другого выходит.
